Silent Auction – Mobile Bidding

Mobile bidding is a modern twist version of paper auctions. You can use your mobile device to electronically view and/or bid on items.

There will be over 450 Silent Auction items available for you to view and bid on.

An amazing feature of mobile bidding is the fact that you don’t have to physically show up to the auction to make a bid. You can remotely gain access to the silent auction items from anywhere in the world from your cell phone or computer! The online auction usually opens mid-June. If you have registered for the event, then you will have access to view many of the auction items early and start placing your bids.

The mobile bidding system will also let you know if you have been outbid! You don’t have to check each item you bid on to see if you have been outbid.

Like eBay, you can set a maximum bid on an auction item.  The mobile bidding system will place a bid for you at the next available bidding value. If you are outbid, the system will increase your bid at the next bid increment and continue to bid on your behalf until you either win the item or are outbid over your maximum bid amount.

At the end of the night, you will be notified on your mobile device which items you were the highest bidder on. You can pay for the winning items through the application on your mobile device or you can line up to pay for your winning items.

There will be two lines for collecting your items. One for those that have already paid for them and another for those that want to pay when they collect their items. This payment/pickup process has gone extremely fast in past years.

Silent Auction – Physical vs Paper

Physical silent auction items will be on display in the Silent Auction Room on the tables.

Each item will have a tag on them identifying:
Item number This is the auction item number in the online bidding system
Starting bid This is the minimum bid that the bidding will start at
Bid Increment This is the amount that the next bid will automatically be incremented by over the last bid amount in the system.

Paper silent auction items are gift certificates, gift cards, tickets to events, admission tickets, lift tickets, etc. A description for all paper items will be on display in the foyer outside the ballroom, grouped by category. The item number for each paper item will be displayed with each item.

Marquee Items

Marquee silent auction items are the exception to all other silent auction items.

Marquee items are either unique items valued over $500 or items valued over $1,000 not included in the Live Auction.

All Marquee items will be displayed in the foyer with signage larger than all other silent auction items.

Adventure Alley Raffles

There will be five (5) “adventure” related raffles at the event. Two Air Canada International tickets and two Air Canada North American tickets are a couple of the raffles. Check out the Raffles section for more details.

You can purchase raffle tickets prior to the event online or buy them from the volunteers at the event.

Some of the categories are very popular and their raffle tickets sell out fast!

Bucket Draw Raffle

There are fifteen items/packages available in the Bucket Draw raffle. In front of each Bucket Draw item/package is a box. You can purchase numbered double tickets and put one half of the double tickets into the boxes for the items you would like to win.

Later in the evening one ticket will be drawn from each of the bucket draw raffle boxes and the winning ticket numbers called out.  Match your ticket with the winning number pulled and you get that item.

Donor Board

The Donor Board identifies a variety of expenses we incur in providing the trip of a lifetime to the children on the Day of Flight trip to Disneyland.

If you would like to make a financial donation to the charity, you can go to the donor board and decide how you would like your donation applied. For all donations $20 or more you will be mailed a tax receipt.

Live Auction

There will be 5-6 larger valued items auctioned off at the event. Larry Dugdale is a professional auctioneer that has donated his time to help us auction off these items. The Live Auction should take approximately 30 minutes to complete.

All Live Auction items will be identified and described in the Event Program.

Photo Booth

There will be a photo booth set up in the Foyer. Get your picture taken in the Photo Booth area as a keepsake of the event. Grab your friends or colleagues and create some fun shots!
